Stephen Speaks Alleged Bribery Incident, MMDA To Investigate

The MMDA will investigate the incident that happened involving singer Stephen Speaks in the Philippines.

STEPHEN SPEAKS – The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will investigate the traffic enforcer who was allegedly bribed.

In a series of tweets, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) issued a statement regarding the traffic enforcer allegedly bribed by the crew of pop rock act Stephen Speaks. Accordingly, the singer’s driver committed a violation and when reprimanded, it only took a selfie with him to get them through and not face any sanction.

The MMDA said it will coordinate with LTO Chief Jay Art Tugade in investigating the matter as stated in the viral post of Speaks.

It hinted that there’s a possibility for the license of those involved to be suspended.

“Our Grab (like Uber) driver just got pulled in Manila over for running a red light, and my tour crew bribed him with a selfie with me to let us go. He said he sings Passenger Seat at the karaoke bar,” the band said. “I was like…. I can’t believe that actually worked.”

This is what Speaks recently shared on Facebook where he narrated how they were let off in exchange for a favor.

After getting viral, an explanation followed. According to the group of Speaks, a dash cam record has shown that they did not beat the red light and apologized for using the word “bribe” in their story.
