PAGASA Says Amihan and Localized Thunderstorms to Affect PH Weather Condition
The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the northeast monsoon and localized thunderstorms will bring rains over parts of the country.
On Wednesday (February 8, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update. The northeast monsoon and localized thunderstorms will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA reported that the northeast monsoon will be affecting several parts of Luzon and the localized thunderstorms will be affecting the remaining parts of the country.
“Muling umiiiral ang northeast monsoon o hanging amihan. Ito nga po ay nakaka-apekto sa malaking bahagi ng Luzon para sa araw na ito kaya asahan natin sa mga susunod na araw, lalakas muli itong northeast monsoon kaya posibleng makakaramdam tayo muli ng malalamig na panahon,” Pagasa weather specialist Obet Badrina said.
The northeast monsoon will bring cloudy weather condition with rains over Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Bicol Region, Aurora, and Quezon.
Amihan will bring partly cloudy to cloudy weather condition with light rains over Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon as well as Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.
The weather agency has warned the public of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over the eastern section of the country will be moderate to rough. The rest of the archipelago will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.
