PAGASA Says 3 Weather Systems to Affect PH Weather Condition

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the shear line, LPA’s trough, and amihan will bring rain over parts of the country.

On Monday (December 19, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Three weather systems will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA reported that the Shear Line will be affecting the eastern section of Southern Luzon while the Northeast Monsoon will be affecting the rest of Luzon.

The Shear Line / Trough of a low-pressure area will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Bicol Region, Romblon, Visayas and Mindanao.

“Sa nalalabing bahagi ng Luzon, inaasahan natin generally fair weather pa rin pero posible yung mga mahihinang pag-ulan dulot ng pag-iral ang northeast monsoon,” Pagasa weather specialist Obet Padrina said.

The northeast monsoon will bring similar weather condition over Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Mt. Province, Ifugao, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Aurora, Quezon, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro.

PAGASA

Amihan will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

The weather agency has also warned the public of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over the seaboards of Luzon will be moderate to rough. The seaboards of Mindanao will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.
