Alex Gonzaga & Dina Bonnevie Issue: Joey De Leon Gives Reaction

This is the reaction of Joey De Leon to the alleged incident that happened between Alex Gonzaga and Dina Bonnevie.

ALEX GONZAGA – Currently circulating online is the alleged story between Alex Gonzaga and Dina Bonnevie which Joey De Leon has reacted to.

In a previous article, actress Alex Gonzaga talked about being traumatized when a “matandang artista” has scolded her “mula ulo hanggang paa”. Many people assumed that she must be referring to seasoned actress Dina Bonnevie who has a story about that one time when she gave a young actress hell for being late.

To recall, Alex and Dina worked together in the TV5 series P.S. I Love You in 2011. And based on the story of Dina, she really gave the young actress hell because she and other stars of the series waited for her to arrive and the incidents of her not being punctual accordingly happened several times.

‘Who do you think you are? Are you famous? Who are you? What name have you made? Have you carved your name in stone in showbiz? Your call is at 9 o’clock and you come down from your van at 12 o’clock na naka-pajama? Really?’

Those were the veteran actress’ words and did not back down when this young actress threatened that it will reach her mother.

Hearing this story online, Joey De Leon made a reaction. Being in the industry for decades already, the veteran comedian shared that he had experiences such as this with other artists. However, he is not the type who will make a scene.

What he would do instead of nagging is to end the show. He said, “Ako, matindi ako. Pag may nale-late, nilalayasan ko yung show. Pinapasara ko.”

He recalled a show before called T.O.D.A.S. (Television’s Outrageously Delightful All-Star Show) which aired in IBC 13 from 1980 to 89. Accordingly, what matters most is when late, an artist should be responsible to make the other artist and staff know about it including a valid reason.

But in his experience, the artist, apart from being late, also lied. He shared based on a report from PEP, “E, ang nangyari sa akin nun, ahhh… alam ko, nabalitaan ko, nag-date lang, may ginawa yung iba, e. So, hindi tumawag. Wala pang cellphone nun e.”
