Will Boy Abunda become a Kapuso soon?
King of Talk Boy Abunda has spoken about his rumored transfer to GMA after going digital amid the pandemic and the shutting down of ABS-CBN.
Just like many showbiz personalities, the pandemic also affected the life and career of Tito Boy. Fearing for his health, he decided to stay at his house in Samar and he also went to his house in Tagaytay during the first stage of the pandemic.
Then, his home network was ordered to shut down and this made things worse for those who are working in the Kapamilya network. During a recent interview, based on the article in Manila Bulletin, the seasoned TV host said that he is thankful he was able to learn to use digital platforms.
“I went to YouTube. I went to Facebook. I also tried TikTok. Sabi ko nga nuon magkaroon lang ako ng 5 to 10,000 subscribers sa YouTube okay na ako. Wag lang tatanggalin sa akin yung gusto kong makapag-interview,” Boy Abunda said.
Fortunately, he was able to do hosting online for various events. However, the King of Talk said that although what he earned on digital platforms is smaller than their talent fee during live shows and TV appearances, this somehow sustained his financial needs amid the pandemic.
After three years of doing digital shows, just like other showbiz personalities, Tito Boy is also hoping to go back to television. He admitted that he is having conversations with different TV networks but there is no final decision yet.
“Wala pang confirmation. Hindi ko itinatatwa na may paguusap sa iba’t ibang station pero I have not signed a contract. I am in conversation with various groups. But that will be for another presscon. Hindi biro yun,” he said.
For several months now, rumors have been circulating that the seasoned host will be a Kapuso. “I keep on moving. I just wanna move. Isa lang. I have not much to say. Sabi ko nga that’s for another presscon. But I wanna go back to television. That much I can say. I really wanna go back to television,” he said.
Boy Abunda said that being pushed by the circumstance, he went to digital platforms but this is not his forte. “But as what’s gonna happen in the future, a lot of things are gonna happen. A lot of movements within or without to wherever I am but I wanna go back to television,” he pointed out.
