Julia Barretto is thankful for her boyfriend’s support
Expensive Candy actress Julia Barretto was asked about the reaction of her boyfriend actor Gerald Anderson to her vulgar role in her new movie with actor Carlo Aquino.
This is so far the most revealing character that Julia played. In a previous interview, she was asked about the reaction of her mother Marjorie Barretto to her role. The actress said that even before saying yes to the project, she already told her mother about this.
Marjorie encouraged Julia to accept the role. In a recent interview, based on the article in the Philippines Ultimate Showbiz Hub, the actress was asked if she got permission from her boyfriend regarding this movie.
Julia Barretto admitted that she and Gerald Anderson haven’t talked about this. However, she said that she knows that as an artist, her boyfriend would understand this as well. “Actually, we don’t na discuss those things. I think you’re right na and it is given in the nature of our job, so hindi na siya surprising kapag ganun,” the actress said.
Julia also said that she is thankful to Gerald for the support that he is giving. She also said that it is her boyfriend who would tell her to get out there and work. The actress added that she gets the motivation to work from the actor. “So he’s very supportive,” Julia stressed.
Talking about her hooker role in the movie, Julia shared that she really immersed herself into the nature of the job of nightclub performers. She felt that those women doing this job are actually empowered and she saw that they were enjoying performing onstage.
Julia Barretto also said that the “real-life nightclub performers” really embraced what they do and that they really feel confident and beautiful. She shared that she can’t judge those women if this job is the only thing they can do to survive.
