PAGASA Says Habagat & Localized Thunderstorms to Affect PH Weather Condition

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the southwest monsoon and localized thunderstorms will bring cloudy to rainy conditions over parts of the country.

On Wednesday (September 14, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The southwest monsoon and localized thunderstorms will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that Tropical Storm Nanmadol was located 1,910 kilometers east of extreme northern Luzon. It has maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour and gustiness up to 80 kph.

Tropical Storm Nanmadol will be named “JOSIE” once it entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Thursday evening (September 14) or Friday morning (September 15).

The Southwest Monsoon will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms Aklan, Antique, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro.

The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over the rest of the Visayas as well as Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

The weather agency has also advised the residents in the affected area to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern Luzon will be moderate to rough. The rest of northern Luzon and the remaining parts of the archipelago will have slight to moderate surrounding conditions.
