Philippine Nurses sent in Germany under Triple Win Program
Germany is employing 600 nurses from the Philippines for it’s affiliated hospitals and senior care facilities according to it’s consulate in Manila.
The Department of Migrant Workers has started accepting applications from registered Filipino nurses with at least one year of relevant professional experience in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and/or care institutions as part of Germany’s Triple Win Project (TWP) with the Philippine government, according to the embassy.
Following a 2013 government of Germany commission, TWP has sent nurses to work with significant hospital partners around Germany.
Some of these nurses have already been promoted to higher positions while others are increasing their expertise by pursuing more academic degrees to boost their profession.
“Filipino nurses employed in Germany benefit from the high standards of German labor laws and ample social security system regulations, including health insurance, pension insurance scheme, and unemployment insurance,” The Germany Embassy said.
“In terms of remuneration, Filipino nurses will not receive a less favorable treatment than their German colleagues.” they added.
Based on the report of GMA News, In order to apply they must to:
- Possess B1 or B2 level German language competency as measured by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages; certificate must be valid for one year after date of issue.
- To reach Level B1, take German language classes in the Philippines (to be paid and organized by Triple Win) and
- The language course, which may begin at any time between November 2022 and January 2023.
The language test must be taken by applicants who already hold B1 and/or B2 certifications that were issued more than a year ago. The TWP provides no-cost refresher training.
The report mentioned that, upon admittance to the program, candidates must submit a notarized nursing diploma along with a cover letter, curriculum vitae, colored passport-size photograph, copy of a valid passport, as well as a board certificate and a copy of their license from the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
Upon acceptance, applicants must also submit attendance and/or level certificates for German language study as well as prior and present certificates of employment in connected fields.
Since it’s government-to-government agreement the TWP covers the following;
- Free translation of recognition documents and certification
- Travel expenses (visa and airfare)
- Assistance in finding suitable accommodation once in Germany
- Bonus payment for passing A2 and B1 on first take (250 euro)
- Free German Language training (from A1-B1 level)
Over the next ten years, it is predicted that Germany will require an additional 150,000–200,000 skilled nurses.
The German government listed nurses as a national shortage occupation in 2013, according to the embassy, clearing the path for the hiring of foreign staff.
