PAGASA Says Typhoon Henry Swirls Away from PH Landmass
The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that Typhoon Henry is already moving away from the Philippine landmass.
On Saturday (September 3, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) released the latest weather update in the country. Typhoon Henry will continue to affect the country’s weather condition.
PAGASA reported that Typhoon Henry has been last spotted at 355 kilometers east-northeast of Itbayat, Batanes. It has maximum sustained winds of 150 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 185 kph moving north.
Henry will bring moderate to heavy rainfall over Batanes and Babuyan Islands. The damaging to destructive storm-force winds may cause moderate to heavy damage to structures and vegetation possible.
The typhoon and southwest monsoon will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, the rest of Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, and Occidental Mindoro.
The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over the remaining parts of the country.
The weather agency has also warned the public for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
“Typhoon Henry will continue gradually accelerating northward throughout the weekend before turning north northeastward on Monday. On the track forecast, the typhoon may pass very close or make landfall in the southern islands of the Ryukyu Archipelago tonight and exit the Philippine area of Responsibility (PAR) tonight or tomorrow early morning,” Pagasa said.
The coastal water condition over Northern and Central Luzon will be rough.
