3 Cops Extorting Money Arrested in Inside Their Station in Leyte

Authorities arrested three (3) cops inside their station in Leyte after they were accused of extorting money from a lady victim.

The three police officers were arrested by members of the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) anti-scalawag squad in Palo, Leyte, in connection with the suspected bribery of a lady. Extortion accusations have been filed against the three odd public workers.

Brig. Gen. Oliver Enmodias, a commander of the Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (IMEG), Senior Master Sgt. Alex Asis, Staff Sgt. Raffy Reposar, and Cpl. Jerwin Dacillo were identified as the three suspects, according to the report. They’re all stationed in the Palo Municipal Police Department (MPS).

When the three were detained inside their precinct at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, he said they couldn’t be found. The arrest was made after Cherie Quinono, a Tacloban City resident, was freed from custody after posting bail following her detention in an entrapment during a ‘Barangayanihan’ medical mission last October.

Quinones stated that he had been harassed by the three officers for four months. In addition to various extortion accusations, the three are accused of robbery and sexual harassment.

P6,000 in marked money, two Glock 17 9mm handguns, two magazines containing 29 rounds, and four cellular phones were seized from Asis, Reposar, and Dacillo. The three suspects have already been taken into jail by Tacloban City’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-Region 8. According to authorities, the three are also facing administrative charges.
