The video footage of mobile phone that nearly causes fire while being charge goes viral and elicits comments online.

A Facebook user named Dale Canalija has shared the video footage of his mobile phone that nearly causes fire while being charged. The video immediately spread like a wildfire online and garnered various reactions from the netizens.

In the video, it can be seen that the mobile gadget is emitting smoke while being charge, which nearly burned the plastic chair. Canalija immediately poured water into his cellular phone to prevent the fire from spreading.

Dale has also advised the public to always monitor their mobile while charging. The phone suffered burns and severe damages due to the incident.

The Bureau of Fire Protection spokesperson Supt. Anne Atienza said that the phone overheats and start to ignite fire. The agency also reported that electrical ignition is one of the major causes of fire accidents in the country.

BFP recorded about 114 cases of fire due to electrical ignition from January 1 to March 3, 2022. The agency also advised the public to take precautionary measures and avoid over charging and using substandard chargers.

“Tayo’y nagtitipid sa pagbili ng charger but pag nagkaroon ng insidente mas Malaki po mas mapapagastos tayo lalo,” Atienza said.

The BFP official also advised the public to turn off mobile devices when unused to avoid similar incidents.
