The Philippine Azkals’ complete line-up already arrived in the island country of Maldives for the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Challenge Cup Finals which will start on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 featuring the best emerging football teams in the Asian region.
The winner of the AFC Challenge Cup 2014 will earn a ticket to the finals of the Asian Cup which will be held this coming 2015 in Australia featuring the best teams in Asia. The Asian Cup is considered as the World Cup of Football in Asia.
The head coach of the Philippine Azkals assured the management and fans of the Azkals that they will give out their best games against their opponents in Maldives. The Azkals is bracketed in Group B alongside Afghanistan, Laos, and Turkmenistan.
The Philippine team will get a boost from foreign-based players namely Neil Etheridge, Stephan Schrock, Jerry Lucena, Roland Mueller, Dennis Cagara, Paul Mulders, Juani Guirado, and Rob Gier leading the 23-man squad.
