Leni Robredo To Skip SMNI Debate, VP’s Spokesman Reveals This Reason

Here’s the reason why Leni Robredo won’t attend the SMNI debate

Vice President Leni Robredo will skip the presidential debate that the Sonshine Media Network International (SMNI) organized and her spokesperson has stated this reason for her absence.

The said debate on the TV network run by religious leader Apollo Quiboloy, who is on the wanted list of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), will happen on February 15.

On Monday, February 14, the camp of presidential aspirant Bongbong Marcos has confirmed that the former Senator will be attending this political event while Senators Ping Lacson and Manny Pacquiao have declined.

Based on the report from Inquirer, VP Leni Robredo has also turned down the invitation from SMNI. Her spokesperson Barry Gutierrez has cited her presence in past presidential interviews.

“Leni Robredo has a proven track record of attending debates and interviews regardless of the personal histories or affiliations of its sponsors,” Gutierrez said. The spokesman of the Vice President said that the reason for this was her scheduled trip to Panay Island.

“Unfortunately, the VP already has a long standing commitment to meet with leaders and supporters in Panay Island on the date this event was scheduled,” he revealed.

However, Gutierrez stressed that definitely, the presidential aspirant will join the debate organized by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC). “She will be unable to attend this privately sponsored event, but will definitely be present for all the upcoming COMELEC sponsored and accredited debates,” the spokesman of VP Leni Robredo said.

Meanwhile, supporters of the Vice President did not like the result of the recently released Pulse Asia survey. In the said survey, VP Leni’s strong opponent Bongbong Marcos has received 60 percent while she only got 19 percent. For Kakampinks, this is a survey from “False Asia” as they disagreed with the result.
