BANK SCHEDULES – Several banks in the country have already announced the operating schedules for Chinese New Year 2022.
Chinese New Year is the festival that celebrates the beginning of a new year on the traditional lunisolar and solar Chinese calendar. Its first day usually starts during a new moon that appears between January 21 and February 20.
A lot of people are participating with this celebration and observing various rituals hoping to obtain luck for the entire year. Several establishments even suspend their operations during the holiday.

Some bank companies in the Philippines are set to suspend their operation on Tuesday (February 1, 2022) in celebration of the Chinese New Year holiday. Several establishments will also close during the celebration.
However, some businesses and local lenders will remain open during the holidays to serve the Filipino people. Here are some of banks that announced the operating schedules for the holiday.

BDO
Selected branches at malls will operate until 2:00 pm while online service will remain open.
Metrobank
Several branches will close but other branches will remain operational with shortened banking hours.
Security Bank
All branches will be closed but client can contact the bank’s social media accounts or hotlines for their concerns.
The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) also reminded the employers to observe holiday pay rule during special non-working days in February.
