Supporters of Squid Game Hoyeon Jung bothered over her extreme weight loss.
SQUID GAME HOYEON JUNG – South Korean actress Hoyeon Jung got lots of her fans worried because of drastic weight loss.
Jung Ho-yeon of ‘Squid Game’ instantly rose to fame after the series has been released. People loved how strong her character was in the said show and one of the pieces of evidence is the sudden increase in her Instagram followers. She now has over 20 million followers and that is just after the series completed its first season.
She became the breakout star of Netflix’s record-breaking debut hit. It’s a story about players battling in a series of childhood games with dark and deadly twists for a cash reward. She played the character of Kang Sae-byeok, a North Korean defector with a knack for pickpocketing, one skill that helped her survive the game. Her character died in the penultimate episode before making it to the final round.
However, months after the success of the series, many of her fans got worried after seeing her lose so much weight. She is thinner than before and it’s seen when the 27-year-old model/actress updated her Instagram account with photos of her OOTDs at the LACMA art + film gala.
In one of the photos where she is wearing a black Louis Vuitton silk dress, her thin waist and smaller shoulders were visible and very noticeable. These changes have led her fans to tell her to eat well. In a report from Insider, she is aware of her weight and it is caused by something that’s not negative. The Korean actress and model said that she found it difficult to follow the success of her series that she barely ate.
She said, “I lost 6 pounds in a week when it became successful. I couldn’t eat — it wasn’t stress, I just didn’t know this feeling. ‘What’s going on out there, who am I?’ I was kind of losing myself.”
Meanwhile, the director of the show confirmed that there will be a second season.
