Woman Receives Booster Dose Before Meeting British Boyfriend in Thailand
A woman from Dasmariñas has decided to get her booster dose before meeting her British boyfriend in Thailand.
The Philippine government has started to distribute the booster shots for individuals under A4 and A5 categories to boost their protection against the coronavirus disease. A5 includes the less-fortunate Filipino people.
One of the recipients named Merle Reate got her booster shot for protection and in consideration of her love life. She received the COVID-19 booster dose before meeting her British boyfriend.
The lady got her booster shot in De La Salle University Dasmariñas gym during the distribution of booster shots to fully vaccinated adults. She wants to feel safe before meeting her special someone.
“Plano lang magkita kami sa Thailand,” Reate said.
The Department of Health reported that the Philippine government has administered over 400,000 COVID-19 booster shots on December 3, 2021. Over 90 million doses have been inoculated with 52 million vaccines have been administered as first dose while 37 million Filipinos received a full dose.
Meanwhile, Health Secretary Francisco Duque III said that Filipinos can choose brands for their booster shots but he suggest to use that available brands.
“We have reached 70% of the first doses and about 68% of the second doses for senior citizens. Hindi pa rin sapat ‘yon (That is not enough),” Health Undersecretary and NVOC chairperson Myrna Cabotaje said.
However, Cabotaje said that vaccination among elderlies must be intensified to prevent fatalities.
