Couple Got Arrested for Allegedly Extorting Male Victim Over Malicious Photo w/ Another Woman Inside Motel Room
The NBI agents arrested a couple for extorting a male victim over his malicious photo with another woman inside a motel room.
The National Bureau of Investigation – Special Action Unit (NBI-SAU) arrested a couple identified as Jimmy Balenzoga and Josie Balenzoga over charges of extortion. The two were guilty for blackmailing and extorting a helpless man.
The authorities arrested the couple after the unnamed complainant turned over the P20, 000 marked money to the suspects. Jimmy and Josie tried to resist the arrest and the authorities.
The complainant reiterated that Balenzoga couple blackmailed him. The two asked him to give a certain amount of cash in exchange of hiding his photo together with another woman inside a motel room.
The victim explained that ta woman he met from a dating site tried to extort money from her after secretly taking undressed photos. The woman threatened to send it to the complainant’s wife if the amount will not be given.
“Nagawa pang i-manage ng babae itong subject na kontakin itong asawa. Nanghingi pa ito ng pera sa wife para hindi lumabas at kumalat ‘yung nude photos and videos,” NBI-SAU Executive Officer Atty. Kristine Dela Cruz said.
According to Dela Cruz, the couple denied the accusations and reiterated that they were just victims.
“Grupo sila, so sindikato. Alam niya ang different avenues kung paanong paraan pa nila makukuhaan ng pera ‘yung mga nabibiktima nila, Maide-delete daw ang scandal nila, sabi ng babae. Parang na-blackmail po ako ng babae,” Dela Cruz added.
Balenzoga would face charges of robbery-extortion, violation of RA 9995 orAnti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act as well as RA 10175 or cybercrime law.
