According to Gen. Yarra, the dismissal of nine officers (unnamed), two station commanders and seven police community precinct commanders is related to their enforced ‘one-strike policy’ on all station and unit commanders who prove connected or fail to suppress all of the type of illegal gambling, based on the order of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) PMGen. Vicente D Danao Jr.

Yarra said that this action is to intensify the fight against illegal gambling. He added that this also to intensify the sense of responsibility of current police leaders in revitalizing their effort towards unlawful gambling operations within their area of jurisdiction.

Meanwhile, the anti-narcotic operatives jailed a policeman and his accomplice civilian who are on the list of wanted drug peddlers during a drug buy-bust operation conducted in Barangay Calaocan, Santiago City. The suspects allegedly transacted with a police officer who acted as the buyer of suspected shabu worth P5,000, which was purportedly discovered in suspect’s custody.

Based on police and PDEA records, the police is on the Regional Target List while his cohort is on the Street Level Individual or SLI. Provincial Director of the Isabela Police Provincial Office said they have no place in the ranks of the police for those involved in illegal activity, especially illegal drugs.
