Harry Roque Warns Legal Violations to Person Behind Leaked Outburst Video
The Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque has warned the person who allegedly leaked his outburst video online to face legal violations.
Spox Roque’s rant against a group of doctors who warned that loosening lockdowns could lead to a further increase in COVID-19 infections went viral on social media recently. He can be heard ranting at a group of doctors who are begging the administration to put the country under lockdown for two weeks.
Roque warned on Monday that the person who released the popular video could face penalties for allegedly disclosing government secrets and breaking data privacy laws. Roque said the person might also be held accountable for allegedly breaking the Anti-Wiretapping Act at an online press briefing.

He stated that it is up to the COVID-19 Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) to submit possible charges against the individual. Roque is also the IATF’s spokesman. It was also unclear whether the IATF had already identified the individual who shared the video clip with a journalist.
“Sa tingin ko po, liable, at liable din po for revealing public secrets. Pero hahayaan ko na po ‘yan sa IATF at ‘yan naman po ay napag-usapan sa IATF,” said Roque
He stresses in the video that the group needs to hear his thoughts because no one else has said the government’s response to the current pandemic has been helpful. Because of the way Roque’s remark was stated, it drew a lot of criticism on social media.
He earlier apologized for becoming “emotional” as a result of this. He did emphasize, however, that his message was on behalf of all those who were hungry due to the lockdowns.
Dr. Maricar Limpin, the head of the Philippine College of Physicians, who was on the receiving end of Roque’s outburst, suggested on Saturday that he should retire out of delicadeza. Following the incident, several medical organizations have called for Roque’s resignation, claiming that he insulted those on the front lines of the pandemic.
