Muntinlupa Cashless Cash Aid Distribution Causes Influx at Remittance Center
The online community has criticized the cashless move of the Muntinlupa local government for the distribution of cash aid due to influx at the remittance center.
Muntinlupa City’s municipal government recently announced that the delivery of financial aid will be cashless in order to avoid congestion at distribution facilities. According to the LGU, the advertisement will be distributed by online payment and withdrawn at a remittance center.
Their decision, however, has been ridiculed on the internet. Local residents of Muntinlupa have posted photographs of remittance stations on Facebook, showing crowds of people waiting to receive their monetary assistance.

Several people who are qualifying beneficiaries of quarantine aid throng outside the remittance center to withdraw the money sent to their online wallet, as seen in the images. However, due to an influx of beneficiaries, the centers have built up a long queue because they are unable to serve many clients at once.
It’s also clear that the basic health protocols aren’t being followed. As a result, the local administration has been chastised for its health regulations by the internet community. They also chastised the distribution’s poor decision.
Aside from the cashless distribution, they also use a “by appointment” manual payout approach to avoid crowds in distribution centers. Meanwhile, the LGU earlier drew flak online over beneficiaries list for cash aid listed a whole clan.
The city authority of Muntinlupa emphasized that the list of financial aid recipients on the full website with the same last name is authentic and valid. This comes after a list of aid recipients in Barangay Cupang with the surname “Alipit” recently went popular on social media.
