Muntinlupa LGU Drew Flak Over Cash Aid List with the Whole Clan Listed

Muntinlupa LGU Cash Aid Beneficiaries List Criticized after a Whole Clan was Listed

The local government of Muntinlupa clarified the beneficiaries list for cash aid after it draws criticisms online due to a whole clan listed.

The city authority of Muntinlupa emphasized that the list of financial aid recipients on the full website with the same last name is authentic and valid. This comes after a list of aid recipients in Barangay Cupang with the surname “Alipit” recently went popular on social media.

Tez Navarro, Muntinlupa’s Public Information Officer, asserted that the list had been cross-checked and validated by local and national authorities. They were certain that the list was confirmed because it was purportedly utilized from a previous Social Amelioration Program (SAP) distribution, according to her.

She explained that city people with the same last name are not uncommon because they are members of clans owing to “inter-marriages.” The many clan surnames, she claimed, are a thing of the past.

Meanwhile, the LGU claims that the help will be distributed via an online payment facility. They’ll also use a “by appointment” manual payout approach to avoid crowds in distribution centers.
