Here’s Herbert Bautista Advice for Celebrities Who Consider Career in Politics
HERBERT BAUTISTA – Pinoy actor and politician Herbert Bautista has advice for celebrities who consider a career in politics.
Actor and comedian Herbert Bautista served as the mayor of Quezon City from 2010 to 2019. He has been in politics for a couple of years now and made records of becoming the youngest Pinoy vice mayor after he won the election in 1995.
The 53-year-old celebrity was recently interviewed by PUSH. He shared that he’s very grateful that after his last term as Quezon City mayor, he was able to do many projects on the Kapamilya network.
Herbert Bautista’s latest performance on the tv network was the family dramedy ‘The House Arrest of Us’ starring Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo. Now, he will be working on a tv series on TV5.
“I’m very thankful, una, we are in a pandemic, marami tayong kasamang mga artista, production people, crew na naghahanap ng trabaho, pero may trabaho ako. So I’m really very thankful na after my term nagkaroon ako ng trabaho sa ABS-CBN at ngayon naman sa TV5,” he said.

During the interview, Herbert Bautista was asked what he would advice to his fellow celebrities who also want to enter the world of politics. The veteran actor said they should be ready.
He recalled his experience working in the industry while serving as a youth leader in Kabataang Barangay when he was just 17 years old. He said, “the entertainment industry teaches you to prepare—mga pre prod, planning, timing –—andyan na lahat until you give your final product to your client and that is the people. Ito dapat yung produkto where they will be entertained, masasayahan sila maiibsan yung kanilang kalungkutan. Ganun yung turo sa akin ng entertainment industry.”
“So kung meron tayong mga kasama, mga kapatid natin na nasa industriya, it’s not enough na sandigan natin yung katanyagan natin. Kailangan nating maghanda, kailangan nating mag-prepare. Kasi masakit pagsabihan na, ‘Kaya naman naging ano yan kasi artista yan.’ That’s very, very offensive…”
“Para maiwasan natin na ma-offend tayo, from the beginning let’s not also offend them by being prepared,” he added.
