LTO Warns Against Fixers, Scammers Victimizing on Social Media
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has warned the public against fixers and scammers in social media platforms victimizing some individuals.
The LTO has issued a warning to the public about sharing personal information on social media, particularly with scammers and fixers who promise licenses without an exam. LTO clearly advises that the @OfficialLTOlicenseassistance website or the LTO License Assistance Center charge PHP3,500 to PHP6,500 in the letter.
“These scammers are encouraging fixing through non-taking and non-appearance in the driver’s license exam,” said LTO.

It warned people not to give out private or personal information to such pages or people because it could lead to “identity theft and other illicit acts.” Driver’s licenses obtained through the aforementioned Facebook page or from anybody other than an LTO office are “counterfeit and invalid.”
“Thus, a motorist who is caught possessing a fake license will be meted with stiffer penalties,” LTO added.
Meanwhile, the Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT) has warned the public against fake officials of their agency soliciting donations. The DICT made the notification after receiving information that certain people are impersonating agency officials and workers in order to seek donations from the public.
