Quezon City Store Owners Launches Free Fare Community Pantry for Less Fortunate People w/ No Fare
Quezon City store owners have launched a free fare community pantry movement for the less-fortunate residents.
The Facebook page Community Pamasahe has shared the photos of a table containing some amount of cash with the aim to provide free fare to the residents. The program earns various reactions online.
The store owners in Barangay Sikatuna Village in Quezon City launched a community pantry “pamasahe” edition. The program has been called “community pamasahe” with a signage “Kulang ba ang pamasahe mo? Sobra ba ang barya mo?”
The pantry encourages the public to donate their spare change for those who are short of money to get a ride. The organizers made the program because they could not afford to open a community pantry offering foods.
The organizers also came up with the idea after noticing that the people coming from food pantries are tired and exhausted of walking just to get food.
