Albie Casiño made this clarification
Actor Albie Casiño said that he is not really mad at the government after netizens have talked about his viral ECQ Season 2 post.
Last March Albie became a trending topic on social media due to his statement that came after the announcement of the government placing the National Capital Region under enhanced community quarantine due to the alarming rise in the number of COVID-19 cases.
“Congrats to everyone who voted nung 2016 sana natutuwa kayo ngayon vote wisely sa 2022,” he said in his social media post. Netizens who also have the same sentiments reposted this post of the actor and so it became a trending topic online.
In a recent media conference for the new series of the Kapamilya network, Init Sa Magdamag, being one of the cast members, Albie Casiño was asked about celebrities who are being vocal when it comes to their view on social and poltiical issues.
He said that he is not mad at the government but disappointed in what it is doing in dealing with the current situation in the Philippines, based on the article in The Philip[pine Star.
“I can only answer for myself, ‘yung para sa akin lang. For me, I pay taxes. I feel I have a right to voice my opinion because I pay my taxes. Nakikita ko kung magkano ‘yung taxes ko tapos nakikita ko ‘yung response sa COVID e. So sinong hindi magagalit, ‘di ba?” the actor said.
Albie Casiño also stressed, “I’m not really mad at the government, I’m just mad on how they handled things.”
Meanwhile, his co-star veteran actress Tetchie Agbayani said that it is the right of celebrities to express their views when it comes to matters concerning politics because she said that they are also citizens of the Philippines.
