What’s the stand of Tetchie Agbayani on political issues being tackled by politics?
Veteran actress Tetchie Agbayani reacted to celebrities who are speaking up when it comes to their social and political views.
Amid the pandemic and other social issues that have been occurring in the Philippines, several celebrities have been airing their predicaments, emotions, and concern for the future of the country and the Philippines.
There were those who showed support for celebrities who are speaking their minds through their social media posts. However, there were those who criticized them for their “pakikisawsaw” in politics.
In line with this, during a recent media conference for the new Kapamilya series Init Sa Magdamag, Tetchie Agbayani, who is one of the cast members, gave her reaction to celebrities who are voicing out their views when it comes to politics and social issues.
The veteran actress does not want the idea that celebrities should stick to acting and not involve themselves in politics. She stressed that artistas are also citizens of the Philippines. They also have the right to speak and they have the “unique position” as being popular that would bring their views to a wider audience.
“If you see some injustice being committed, you cannot not speak. As a Catholic, as a Christian, merong nagaganap na hindi tama, hindi makatao, hindi maka-Diyos, obligasyon mo bilang anak ng Diyos na kumibo. Dahil ‘pag hindi ka kumibo, kinokonsite mo ‘yung mali na ginagawa,” Tetchie Agbayi added.
With the current situation in the country, she said that it is inevitable for anyone to speak, especially many people have already suffered and died. Tetchie added that there is a strong need to contradict the wrong things.
