Cops Arrest 31 Individuals Arrested For Joining “Illegal Sabong”
Around 31 individuals have been arrested by the authorities for joining “illegal sabong” in Northern Samar and Davao City.
On Friday (April 2, 2021), the members of the Northern Samar Police Provincial Office arrested around 22 individuals. Victoria Municipal Police Station at Northern Samar Provincial Mobile Force Company (NSPMFC) arrest 14 residents for conducing ‘cock fight’.
The authorities recovered four roosters and other materials such as gaff, rolls of thread, magic tape and cash worth P4.690. Three individuals from Barangay Aguada in the town of Rosario has been arrested and cops seized two fighting cocks and P600 bet money.
The police officers also arrest three residents of Barangay Sabang due to cock fight and recovered at least P1,050. One dead rooster and gaffs have been recovered after the operation. The suspects are currently facing charges of illegal gambling law because of their crimes.
In Davao City, the personnel of Talomo Police arrested nine male residents for playing “sabong” around 6:00 pm in the evening at a compound in Zabate Village in Bangkal. The suspects also violated the health protocols for not wearing face masks.

Based on Ordinance No. 0307-20 or the Face Mask Ordinance, it is strictly prohibited for residents to go in public places without a face mask due to the effects of the coronavirus disease.
The cops also confiscated the computers used for the operation of “online sabong”.
