Two Muntinlupa Areas Placed Under Extreme Localized Lockdown Following COVID Surge
MUNTINLUPA AREAS EXTREME LOCALIZED LOCKDOWN – Two areas in muntinlupa are placed under a strict localized quarantine following a spike in COVID-19 cases.
Mayor Jaime Fresnedi announced an executive order declaring St. Anthony Street in JPA Subdivision Barangay Tunasan and Fresnedi Compound on Amparo Street, Brgy. Poblacion will be placed under “extreme localized lockdowns”.
Recently, these areas had a high rate of 32 cases per 1,000 population. Furthermore, city health chief Dr. Juancho Bunyi stated that a doubling time of 3 days were observed beginning on March 18 to 22.
Additionally, an attack rate of 17.4 cases and a doubling time of three days were also recorded from March 16 to 25 in Amparo street. Moreover, a clustering of COVID-19 infections were detected in the two areas as the public failed to observe social distancing and basic health protocols such as wearing masks.
Currently, Muntinlupa has a total of 6,699 confirmed coronavirus cases. Of that number, 735 were tagged as active cases with 5,773 already recovering from the virus. Sadly, 191 individuals succumbed to the disease.
