4 Residents in Quezon City Allegedly Present Fake COVID-19 Results Face Charges
Four (4) Quezon City residents were facing charges after they allegedly present a face fake reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test results for COVID-19.
According to the report of GMA News, one of the people who was caught with a fake RT-PCR test result is a 24-year-old resident. It was learned after using it to go on a vacation to Coron, Palawan.
The resident eventually tests positive with coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Based on the report, the surveillance unit of Quezon City called that they received a call from the Red Cross with a positive swab test from Quezon City.

Palawan city health official Dr. Allan Guintapan said that the individual forged the documents because they were worried about not getting the result in time for their trip. He added that the Quezon City surveillance unit told them the result was positive for the visitor.
According to him, he immediately ordered to pull out the positive tourists and brought them to isolation. The resident’s primary contacts were also placed in isolation for swabbing.
In February, a resident also faked his test result to visit Boracay island. Also, two other individuals showed fake RT-PCR test results to be repatriated to their respective provinces.
The four individuals will face charges of violating Republic Act No. 11332 or the Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act.
