Ate Gay Closes Siomai Business Within Less Than a Year

The Filipino comedian Ate Gay shuts down his humble siomai business less than a year after opening it in Tondo, Manila.

Last year, the Filipino actor, comedian, impersonator, and singer Gil Morales or popularly known as Ate Gay launched her humble siomai business in Tondo, Manila. He named his business venture as “Ate Gays Siomai”.

Ate Gays Siomai offered delicious yet affordable meals such as siomai, fried rice, pancit, and noodle soup. Aside from delicious meals, he also provides entertainment to his valued customers.

The comedian started his own business after the government and authorities stopped the operations of comedy bars in the Philippines due to the coronavirus pandemic. His humble business sits well to the people.

However, less than a year after the store’s opening, Ate Gay has decided to close the shop and revealed the reason behind his decision. The entertainer revealed that he could no longer “Siomai Himala” because his projects start to pick up.

“ECQ (enhanced community quarantine), wala akong magawa eh. Sarado ‘yung mga comedy bars. Hangga’t wala kang mga ginagawa, e di nagtayo ka ng Siomai Himala. Ngayon, noong medyo okay-okay na ang trabaho, isinara ko na, Eh kasi walang nagbabantay. ‘Pag wala ako dun, walang bumibili eh!” Morales said.
