Ate Gay Sells Siomai to Earn Money After Comedy Bars Closed

The Filipino comedian Ate Gay is now selling siomai to earn money and survive after comedy bars have closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Gil Morales or popularly known as Ate Gay is a Filipino actor, comedian, impersonator, and singer. He rose to fame because of his entertaining punch lines and funny antics. He was also involved in a controversy about the shouting incident at a backstage together with Willie Revillame and Ethel Booba.

Morales has been also featured in various Filipino films and television shows. He is regularly appearing in various comedy shows at different comedy bars. However, a lot of comedy bars are already closing due to the health crisis.

Ate Gay

Recently, the comedian comes up with a new gimmick by setting a food stall in Tondo, Manila, and start to sell siomai. His new business is called “Ate Gays Siomai”, which offers siomai, fried rice, pancit, and noodle soup.

Aside from delicious yet affordable foods, he is also providing a bit of entertainment to his customers. His business just opened last July 20, 2020 (Monday) and it sits well with his fans and supporters.

“Sold out naman po ang siomai ko kaya lang masakit sa balakang kakapagod .. siguro bagong mundo kaya sana kayanin ko araw-araw … maraming salamat po sa inyo… bukas uli…,” the 48-year-old comedian said.

He is also using the tagline “Siomai Himala” on his food business since he rose to fame for impersonating Ate Guy (Nora Aunor).
