FDA Warns Public About Buying AiDeLai Face Masks in Philippine Market

Food and Drug Administration (FDA) warned the public about the AiDeLai face masks that are being sold in the Philippine market.

Based on the report of Inquirer, FDA said that through post-marketing surveillance, it was found that the medical product was not “notified”, which is officially approved and did not have a Product Notification Certificate.

Pursuant to Republic Act No. 9711 or the Food and Drugs Administration Act of 2009, prohibits the manufacture, importation, exportation, sale, distribution, transfer, non-consumer use, promotion, advertising, or sponsorship without proper authorization.

The agency said the products did not go through the evaluation process so it is uncertain whether it is safe to use. As a result, the person who will be caught selling shall be punished.

“All concerned establishments are warned not to distribute, advertise, or sell the said violative food products until the Product Notification Certificate is issued, otherwise, regulatory actions and sanctions shall be strictly pursued,” it said.

The sale of unregistered products can be reported through eReport at www.fda.gov.ph/ereport. FDA released a list of “notified” brand of face masks and other minimum safety essentials.

Also, the FDA revealed that list that includes the brand of face masks that are prohibited from the market. That also includes the brand names of the fake copper masks that are fashion trends nowadays.
