Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Finance Senator Grace Poe says the Office of the Vice President’s (OVP) budget will not be affected.
Previously, amid the probe regarding the alleged misuse of confidential funds in the Office Of The Vice President (OVP) and Department Of Education (DepEd) under Sara Duterte’s leadership, she made remarks online that created a loud buzz.
For one, the person who holds the second highest position in the country lashed out at the Marcoses. Duterte made remarks threatening the lives of President Bongbong Marcos and First Lady Liza Marcos. She also mentioned the name of House Speaker Martin Romualdez where in her video, she claimed that she had someone ready to kill them once she died first.
The vice president made more remarks and according to former Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) president Domingo Cayosa, such words may cause her disbarment and she may also face libel charges.
Amid all these issues and more, Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Finance Senator Grace Poe assured that the outburst and public meltdown of Duterte will not be used as a ground to affect the OVP’s appeal for an increased budget for next year.
Poe assured that the upper chamber would consider the appeal to increase its Php 733.2 million budget based on its needs and not based on the personality of the vice president.
Poe assured that to restore the OVP’s originally proposed Php 2.037 billion for 2025 despite publicly threatening the First Family and Speaker Romualdez. To recall, Php 1.3 billion was slashed from the OVP budget by the House of Representatives.
“Never naman dapat nakaapekto yun. Di naman personality ito eh, it’s more on the how she’s able to (justify it),” Poe said. So far, only Senate Minority Koko Pimentel said that the OVP budget will be affected due to Duterte’s outburst.

Sarah’s outburst, baseless tirades, and sheer disrespect of protocols and rules in congress or in any institution such as the office of the president are clear indicators she is not mentally and emotionally fit to serve as vice president of the Philippines. So why would senator Grace Poe say that the OVP budget won’t be affected despite her personality? Personality is a major player in good governance and accountability.
Sarah knew from whoever sources that there is a plot that may endanger her life, she said should it be that , something really happens to her, which will prove that there is really an assasation plot against her then , her will Wii be that , since the plot indeed is TRUE, then she leaves a will. That is not a threat.She was the one threatened, so in response to what she learned, then she leaves a will.
Which means, if there is no such AGAINST her life, then , there’s nothing for anyone of them to feel threatened…
