Nadine Lustre Versus Viva – In the issue of the actress with Viva Artists Agency, this point was raised as an alleged inconsistency on her part.
Nadine announced early this year that she was terminating her contract with the talent management company. VAA strongly opposed to this as they signed a contract that will end until 2029.
The camp of Viva already warned the actress that it might resort to legal action if the actress will pursue what she wants. For several months, the issue hibernated. However, this December, VAA formally filed a complaint against Nadine.
Her camp stressed that they are welcoming the complaint with the anticipation that the truth will come out. However, based on the article by entertainment columnist Ed de Leon in Pilipino Star Ngayon, in the Nadine Lustre versus Viva issue, the actress is being inconsistent.
The columnist stressed that the camp of the actress claimed that the contract was “abusive and oppressive” but she still signed it.
De Leon said that it was in 2009 when Nadine first signed a contract with Viva. When it ended, she signed again in 2014. The second contract was supposed to end on June 29, 2024.
After a years since she signed the second contract, Nadine once again signed another contract extending their agreement until 2029.
“Ang hindi namin maintindihan, kung bakit makalipas lamang ang isang taon ay naisipan niyang pumirma na naman sa panibagong kontrata na nagpapahaba pa sa naunang 10-year contract ng limang taon pa,” the columnist stressed.
With this, this question surfaced: “Why did the actress signed for the extension of her contract when it was “abusive and oppressive”?
In line with Nadine Lustre versus Viva issue, De Leon said that James Reid, the ex-boyfriend of the actress, was the triggering point why she decided to terminate her contract. Previously, James was also under VAA but he left and the talent agency also let go of him.
