Pres. Duterte Places Entire PH Still Under Community Quarantine Measures
DUTERTE – Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte announced new quarantine measures in the Philippines for this December.
The Philippines is one of the over 200 countries and territories that recorded cases of COVID-19. This pandemic has rocked several healthcare systems across the globe.
Even the World Health Organization (WHO) was alarmed by the speed of the spread of the new coronavirus disease among nations. It previously warned countries not to let their guards down early to prevent the 2nd wave of the disease.
In PH, the Department of Health (DOH) has recorded a total of 431,630 cases of the disease as of this writing. The death toll is currently at 8,392 and 398,658 patients have already recovered from the disease.

Amid the fight against the COVID-19, community quarantine measures are still up in the country to curb its spread. The wearing of face mask and social distancing are also a must most especially in public areas.
Recently, Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte announced the new community quarantine measures in the Philippines. Several cities and provinces remain under General Community Quarantine (GCQ).
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the following areas will be under GCQ from December 1 to 31, 2020:
- Metro Manila
- Batangas
- Iloilo City
- Tacloban City
- Lanao del Sur
- Iligan City
- Davao City
- Davao del Norte
In GCQ areas, not all businesses are allowed to operate in a full level. The rest of the country will be under a modified GCQ for the month of December.
