12 Ilocos Norte Provincial Jail Inmates Isolated Due to COVID-19
INMATES IN ILOCOS NORTE – Twelve (12) inmates in the provincial jail in the province tested positive for COVID-19 disease.
The threats of COVID-19 is still present in the Philippines now. Every day, there are still fresh cases of the disease recorded by the Department of Health (DOH).
As of this writing, DOH has logged a total of 424,297 cases of COVID-19 including 8,242 deaths and 387,266 recoveries. Over 200 countries and territories across the globe have recorded cases of the new coronavirus.
Currently, community quarantine measures are still up in the entire Philippines. Metro Manila and several cities and provinces are under a General Community Quarantine (GCQ) now.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, starting today, Laoag City in Ilocos Norte will be under a Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) until the rise in the COVID-19 cases is contained.
According to the report, 12 inmates in Ilocos Norte Provincial Jail recently tested positive for COVID-19. They are now isolated in the jail and currently being treated.
The 12 inmates in Ilocos Norte Provincial Jail might have been infected by the employees of the facility who earlier tested positive for COVID-19. Five (5) employees of INPJ tested positive for the disease.
Three (3) fish vendors in Laoag City Public Market tested positive for coronavirus. The public market is temporarily close for three days from November 26 to November 28 for disinfection.
