OPM icon Regine Velasquez has this revelations about first date with her husband now.
REGINE VELASQUEZ – Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez shared her past with Ogie Alcasid and remembered what happened to their first date ever.
One of the well-loved artists of all time is Regine Velasquez. Her talent is something that have reached the world and she surely wouldn’t be called as the Asia’s Songbird just for nothing. She famed a lot of songs and her husband is also like her, Ogie Alcasid, a singer and song writer.
They have been married for a long time now and were blessed to have one son they named Nate. And in an interview she did just recently virtually with TV-movie writer G3 San Diego, she looked back to the days where she was just 18 years old and Ogie was 22 and they had this date with her father.
“Niyaya niya ako makipag-date. I was even with my father because I was young and taga-Bulacan pa ako,” she shared and that was their first and last date. It never bloomed to a relationship and they went on separate paths. Ogie married beauty queen Michelle van Eimeren and had children while she was at the peak of her career.
However, Michelle and Ogie separated. And fate made their paths cross each other again. They have never seen each other until SOP, a now defunct entertainment show in GMA. In the show, she revealed that she doesn’t want to have a duet with Ogie until eventually, after a long time of saying “no”, she finally said “yes” to perform with him until she got used to do it with him on stage.
In falling in love, she shared that they never have the plan for it to happen but still it did and it was a long process since they never imagine that it is going to happen. Although they don’t have the plan, their closeness led her to feeling something for him that when the time he finally confessed to her, she wasn’t shocked and accordingly, she was kind of expecting it.
“Yes, hindi siya masayang umpisa. Madami kaming pinagdaanan. But in the end, it all worked out and now we are here. We are married,” she said as per article from Bandera.
