Police Regional Office (PRO) 6 director Brigadier General Rene Pamuspusan ordered the Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division (RIDMD) to investigate and gather evidence against the said policewomen, according to Panay News.

The said policewomen, who have been relieved after the Sept. 12 incident, violated the memorandum which restricts Philippine National Police (PNP) officers from drinking alcoholic beverages in public places during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sara municipal police chief Major Jose Nemias Pamplona caught the officers, identified as patrolwomen Pearl Joy Araneta, Jeseel Cordivito, Shane Grijaldo, Rose May Ogboc, Ma. Lorena Semilla, and Jean Tiongco, who were in civilian clothes and were having a drinking spree at a restaurant on September 12 afternoon.

PRO-6 spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Joem Malong said that they were waiting for the probe report from the officers’ training course director.

Based on the report, Malong wants an inquiry as to why they were able to engage in binge drinking while undergoing training for Basic Internal Security Operations Course.

“Administrative charges will be filed against them because they violated an order not to drink liquor in public places and besides they are under training and they are not allowed to go out from the training camp,”

Head of PNP directorate for operations Major General Alfred Corpus reiterated President Rodrigo Duterte’s order to prohibit cops from drinking liquor in public places.
