VICE Ganda – Artists Vice Ganda, Jessy Mendiola, and Pokwang make career shifts after House panel denied ABS-CBN’s franchise application.

Several celebrities have started having their businesses while some joined the world of vlogging amid the 2019 novel coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19). However, an extra burden was put under the shoulders of the ABS-CBN stars as their tv network is not allowed to air after its franchise expired.

After 12 hearings, the House panel rejected the media network’s franchise application. In a previous article, ABS-CBN announced that they will start laying off employees starting August 31. They said they will have a program that will help their employees who will lose their job.

Host Vice Ganda is among the celebs who switch to digital platforms amid the tv industry crisis. Based on a report from PUSH, he is set to launch his own entertainment website called ‘viceganda.com.’

“This will be the digital universe of the comedian which will also be seen on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and other social media accounts. The thrust is to drive all these traffic to the viceganda.com website,” Viva marketing head Jay Montelibano said.

According to the report, TV5 also opened new opportunities for artists through their cable subsidiary ‘Cignal Entertainment.’ Former ABS-CBN stars Jessy Mendiola and Pokwang have partnered with the tv network.

The comedian will host the game show “Fill in the Banks” with Kapuso artist Jose Manalo. Aside from the program, she will also team up with GMA-7 artist Pauleen Luna in APT’s morning show “Rise and Shine.”

Meanwhile, Jessy is also set to host her own health show called “Fit for Life.”
