Here are the common surfaces and objects inside your house which are considered as germ hot spots and how to properly clean them:

  • Pillows – The should be washed with a mild detergent on the warmest setting of your washing machine. Then, let these be completely dried up under the heat of the sun. Dirt, saliva, and oil, potentially harmful bacteria, mold, and fungi can build up in your actual pillow.
  • Door knobs – This is known as among the dirties surfaces in your hands as this has been touched by different hands. It is best to disinfect this regularly as flu virus can actually stay in there for up to two days. Wash the knob first with detergent and water then spray a disinfectant solution. After, leave it for a minute then dry it up using clean cloth.
  • TV Remote Control – Everyone in your touch this particular object every now and then and no one knew where other things their hands have touched. And to properly clean this, remove the batteries first then wipe with alcohol-based or disinfecting wipe to clean it well. Another way to clean this is using a cotton cloth dipped in rubbing alcohol as per PEP.
  • Chopping board – It doesn’t matter if it is plastic or wood, the fact is that it is contaminated with bacteria coming from raw meat and fishes. Hot, soapy water helps clean the board after every use. Also leave it for a few minutes in a disinfectant solution, rinse with clean water and air dry.
  • Clothes – This item is where you are likely to get bacteria and virus as these can be transferred to your hands and can be pass to another garments. When cleaning, be sure to separate clothes for work, for home, for babies, and among other sorts. For washing, use laundry detergent and a fabric conditioner with antibacterial properties for better disinfection.
