The Philippine Azkals who are currently training in Japan were safe and far away from the devastation brought about by the m(–foul word(s) removed–)ive earthquake and tsunami that hits Japan. They were training in Japan in preparation for the second leg of their qualifying bout against Mongolia whom they defeated in Bacolod.

Dan Palami the team manager of Azkals was quoted as saying in his twitter account, “Azkals are safe… Feel the tremors but otherwise okay.  Airports have been closed hopefully it won’t effect flight to Mongolia tomorrow”.

The (–foul word(s) removed–)urance of safety was further seconded by Anton del Rosario in his twitter account “Good Day just want to let you know that the team is alright here in Japan. Please send your prayers to the rest of the country!”

Ally Borromeo the other Azkals also wrote in his twitter account about the situations of the Azkals. “Just to let everyone know that we’re all safe in Japan. We’re quite far from the coastline so no need to worry”.

The micro-blogging site twitter have been helpful not only to the victims of the recent earthquake and tsunami in Japan but most importantly the speedy dissemination of information through the social media.
