Video of Barangay Captain Who Allegedly Struck Resident w/ Wooden Stick For Staying Outside Its Home Elicits Comments Online
A certain barangay captain strikes a “pasaway resident” with a wooden stick for staying outside its home despite the enhanced quarantine.
The Duterte administration is already implementing precautionary measures in the Philippines to prevent the rampant spread of the coronavirus disease. President Rodrigo Duterte also placed the entire Luzon over an enhanced community quarantine.
The new quarantine measure restricts mass gathering and mass transport. The lockdown also includes a curfew policy restricting the movements of the residents. The measure prohibits people to remain outside to avoid being infected by COVID-19.
However, several local government units were struggling to implement the measure due to the hard-headed residents who continue to defy the lockdown protocols.
Recently, the Facebook page “Pogi lang po” has shared the video footage of a barangay captain who allegedly strikes a “pasaway resident” for staying outside its home. The video garnered various reactions from the online community.
In the video, it can be seen that the residents were criticizing the barangay captain for his act. The resident even showed his injury due to the incident and his relatives even cursed the official.
