Bacolod Mayor Leonardia Requests for Reduced Mall Operation
BACOLOD MAYOR LEONARDIA – Mayor Evelio “Bing” Leonardia requested for reduced mall operations in the city.
The local government units are heightening the implementation of the protective measures against the spread of the COVID-19. In the Philippines, there is now a total of 202 coronavirus cases according to the DOH.
President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has declared a state of calamity in the entire Philippines. This allows the LGUs to use their funds for the fight against the spread of COVID-19.
As part of the move to prevent the disease from spreading, Bacolod Mayor Leonardia has placed the city under a community quarantine. All entries to the city are strictly guarded by the authorities.
Bacolod remains to be a COVID-free city. It holds the Regional Hospital were previous patients under investigation (PUIs) were confined.
Recently, based on a report from TV Patrol Negros, Bacolod Mayor Leonardia issued an Executive Advisory requesting the mall administrators to reduce their operation schedule. Also, the City Mayor is asking these huge businesses to reduce the number of people called for duty.
Mayor Leonardia also asks certain establishments to continue their operation. Based on the report, these establishments include the pharmacies, the banks, the government offices, the convenience stores, the clinics, and the bakeries.
