DepEd Wants To Suspend Classes in Some Schools for SEA Games
DEPED – The Department of Education wants to suspend classes in some schools for the SEA Games.
This year, the Southeast Asian Games (SEA) Games 2019 will be held in the Philippines. The preparation continues and some players from other countries have already arrived in the country.
The SEA Games is one of the biggest events to be held in the country for this year. Many are excited to watch the games and, in the case of the Filipinos, to support the Philippine national teams.
To allow the parents, teachers, students, and other school staff, the Department of Education (DepEd) wants to suspend the classes for the SEA Games. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, there are schools recommended for the suspension of classes.
In a text to ABS-CBN News, Annalyn Sevilla, the spokesperson of the Department, expressed that the schools recommended for class suspension are in Metro Manila and CALABARZON. With regards to the private schools in the said areas, the decision is up to the school administrators.
The launching of the SEA Games will be on November 30 and the closing ceremony is set on December 11. According to the report, here is a list of the schools recommended for class suspension:
