Oxygen Bars Becomes Popular As Indian Air Reaches Toxic Levels

India Now Offers Oxygen Bars So Residents Can Breath Fresh Air

OXYGEN BARS – Have you ever seen the movie “The Lorax” where everybody pays to breath fresh air? Well, that movie is starting to become a sad reality.

New Delhi’s air pollution levels have gone up to insane heights as pollution in the area hits toxic levels. Because of this, oxygen bars are starting to become more popular.

These places offer their customers fresh-air so they could breath easy. However, some find the idea off-putting.

With this, New Delhi officials were even forced to declare a public health emergency due to the toxic air quality. Adding to this, their pollutions levels increased 20 times the standard for safe environments.

This caused construction projects to come to a stop and schools closing across the capital. However, for the people who have the cash to do so, they could find reprieve at their local oxygen bar.

So how much are they charging for a breath of fresh air? According to an article from RT.com, the prices of an establishment called “Oxy Pure” are as follows:

Customers can by between 299 and 499 rupees (that’s around $4 to $7) for a 15-minute oxygen session. They could even choose their own fragrances such as orange, lavender, lemongrass, and cinnamon.

Air pollution is going to dangerous levels so people are coming here to breathe pure oxygen, said Oxy Pure’s owner Aryavir Kumar.

However, there are others that say the concept could be found as a foundation of a dystopian society where only the rich may afford to breath fresh air.

Some even say that this is showing a glimpse of India’s future, “Pay to Breathe”. But, the trend of Oxygen Bars won’t seem to end soon as pollution levels still continue to rise.
