4 Couples Still Exchange Their Vows Amid Tremors In Kidapawan City
COUPLES- Amid tremors on Wednesday due to a strong earthquake, 4 couples from Kidapawan City pursue their wedding ceremony and exchange their vows.
On Tuesday (October 29, 2019), the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology recorded a magnitude 6.6 earthquake in North Cotabato and in some parts of Mindanao at 9:04.
The quake was initially recorded at 6.4 magnitude before it was raised. The incident becomes one of the most trending topics on social media.
But the situation did not dampen the high spirits and excitement of these 4 couples. They have still exchanged their vows even though they are not in the right location for the wedding.
Work was canceled in government offices of Kidapawan following the 6.6-magnitude quake that struck off nearby Tulunan, Cotabato Tuesday, causing massive destruction in the city.
According to the article of inquirer.net, Kidapawan Mayor Joseph Evangelista said he could not cancel the schedule of civil wedding rites, hence he made sure he was there a solemnizing officer for the four marriages.
Newlyweds Anabel and Emiliano Hilario of Kalaisan village in Kidapawan said they didn’t mind that their wedding took place at a time of disaster.
Anabel said the circumstances even bring positive vibes for them.
“Bisan maglinog dayon gyod ang kasal; mabuhay ang bagong kasal” the bride said.
After the ceremony, the couples left the venue for the reception in their respective homes as most hotels and wedding reception venues in the city were still closed for inspection according to the article.
