Habal Driver Gets Praised For Giving Free Rides To Students
HABAL DRIVER – Amidst the issues with the LRT shutting down, students are struggling to get to their classes, which led this Habal Driver to give free rides to students.
According to a student named Modrea Eulanne Reyes, she was waiting for a ride in front of Santolan station. She then saw a motorcycle with a sign that said “libreng sakay” for students.
Reyes felt that she was lucky because if she didn’t get a ride soon, she would miss one of the subjects in her midterm exams. She said that the driver was like a blessing in disguise.
The Habal Driver, “Kuya Mike”, was Reyes’ blessing in disguise because she said that she prayed that she wouldn’t be late. Shortly after, it seemed like her prayers were answered.
Afterward, Reyes expressed her gratitude to Kuya Mike in a Facebook post that has gone viral. There, she explained the reason as to why Kuya Mike was giving away free rides.
“This is kuya Mike.
Amidst the hellish commute in manila and the high demand for public utility vehicles, he willingly helps students by driving them to Cubao station for free.”, Reyes said.
She continued by saying she was one of the lucky students that saw him as she waited for an hour on Santolan station for a PUV. Reyes then asked Mike his reason for the free rides.
Mike said that he didn’t want students to be late. He also added that this would be his good deed so that the Lord would cure his son, Marcus, who has been hospitalized for three days.
Reyes also wanted to help Mike and Marcus more by offering to open a fundraising account for Marcus. However, Mike rejected her offer, but he wanted something else in return.
He said that all he wants is prayers for his son Marcus. Reyes then ended her post by thanking Kuya Mike and asking her friends and family to give their prayers for his 5-year-old son, Marcus.
