MRT, LRT-2 To Give Free Rides To Senior Citizens From October 1 To 7

MRT – In celebration of the Elderly Filipino Week, senior citizens will have free rides on MRT and LRT-2 from October 1 up to 7.

According to ABS-CBN, the elderly can avail for free rides if they can present their senior citizen identification (ID) or any ID cards which proves that they are 60 years and above.

As per the report, they can take free rides in the Light Rail Transit System – Line 2 (LRT-2) from 4:30 in the morning up to 10:30 in the evening. As for the Metro Rail Transit System, free rides are from from 5 in the morning up to 10:30 in the evening.

Last month, Line 3 of the Metro Rail Transit might add three more sets of Dalian trains. It is currently waiting for the approval from the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and Japanese maintenance provider Sumitomo.

MRT-3 director Mike Capati said that this will be of great help if they can make the trains fully operational.
