The state weather bureau PAGASA raised tropical cyclone wind signal number 1 over some parts of the country after Tropical Storm Ineng intensifies.

On Thursday morning (August 22, 2019), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) released the latest updates regarding Tropical Storm Ineng. The weather disturbance was last spotted at 725 km east of Casiguran, Aurora.

PAGASA reported that Bagyong Ineng has maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 90 kph moving 15 kph at west-northwest direction after it slightly intensified. Tropical Storm Ineng is expected to bring moderate occasionally heavy rains over Bicol region, Northern Samar, and Quezon.

The weather agency said that Ineng is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Saturday (August 24, 2019).

Recently, the weather agency raised tropical cyclone wind signal number 1 has been raised in the following areas.

  • Batanes
  • Cagayan including Babuyan Group of Islands
  • Isabela
  • Apayao
  • Kalinga
  • Northern Abra
  • Ilocos Norte

Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon would bring intermittent heavy rains over Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, Mindoro Provinces, northern Palawan, Antique and Aklan.

PAGASA also advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flashfloods and landslides.
