Number Coding Scheme for Provincial Buses on May 10-14 Suspended by MMDA
MMDA announced that the number coding for provincial buses will be temporarily suspended starting May 10 until May 14, 2019.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) was set to lift the number coding for provincial buses.
The agency aims to ensure that there are enough public utility vehicles for the Filipino commuters who will vote on their respective provinces.
The number coding suspension will take effect of May 10 (Friday) until May 14 (Tuesday) as a part of May 13 elections.
“Coding for provincial buses will be lifted on Friday May 10 and Tuesday May 14 for commuters who are going to vote in the provinces,” MMDA Edsa traffic head Bong Nebrija said.
Nebrija said that the cancellation of the number coding scheme also covers Makati since buses pass through major access routes.
